Those of you who follow my posts regularly probably know that I love running. Not only is it great exercise, it’s also a perfect excuse to be outside and enjoy the scenery around you. When the weather gets warm and the sun is shining, I always prefer to run outdoors than be stuck in a gym on a treadmill.
If you live in a city, it can sometimes be hard to find a great place to go for a run – but not if you’re a New Yorker. Central Park may be the go-to spot for summer picnics, horse and carriage rides, and paddle-boating on the pond, but it’s also the absolute best place to take a jog when you’re in New York.
The park is absolutely massive and covers 843 acres, with so many routes and paths to take throughout, so your run never has to get boring. It’s without a doubt the most famous park in the world, having been used as a location in 240 feature films around the word, let alone all the TV shows that have filmed scenes in it, like Sex and the City and Gossip Girl. One fun game to play on a run through this park is to try and spot all the different areas your favorite movies have been filmed!
Even though it’s one of my favorite cities in the world, New York can really feel like a concrete jungle with all its towering skyscrapers and hundreds of people cluttering every single street corner, so it’s amazing to have such a beautiful and peaceful green space in the middle of all this madness!
