My Favourite Ways To Style A Scarf

I love playing around with accessories! The options are endless, mixing up outfits with different adornments. I’ve recently been showcasing some beautiful scarves, using them as fantastic additions to my outfits. Some say they are the ultimate fashion accessory, adding simple sophistication to any look. I Iove how they are a special finishing touch or can also stand as a focal point. They come in so many different varieties – sizes, textures, colours and designs. I’m a big fan of a chic silk patterned scarf, its great how they transcend the seasons.

There are so many ways to wear a scarf, easily and instantly updating your look. I suggest experimenting with your scarves, you’ll be surprised how much more use you get out of them. A great to give an update to your bag is to casually tie one to its strap. This gives an instant street style look and one that models such as Kendall Jenner love to do. With a larger bag simply tie a silk scarf round the strap. While a smaller boxy bag looks great if you wind the scarf round the handle, a la Celine or Hermes.

When it comes to wearing scarves in your hair then anything goes. I love how it gives a chic European feel when paired with some big sunglasses. We saw so many hair scarves on the runways this fashion season so expect them to feature a lot in the coming months. Designers had models sporting scarves tied up elegantly to create headbands and turban style looks.

Look effortlessly chic by tying your scarf at the nape of your neck to create an Alice band while the tails of the scarf flow down. I love to simply wear my scarf wrapped round my ponytail. With a high ponytail the scarf flows down, while a wrap your scarf round and round a low slung ponytail to give a funky street style look.

Major fashion houses such as Hermes and Versace have long used the scarf print in their collections. I love how it represents such a classic and timeless elegance. For a really up to date look wrap a larger satin scarf around your waist to create a perfectly cute mini skirt. Keep it super simple with a plain white shirt and some killer heels. I love this an alternative to a mini dress, it would look awesome with some thigh high boots too.

There’s nothing cooler than the boho chic look and nothing says boho more than a turban style head scarf. It is so simple to achieve yet makes a big statement. Keep hair loose and down, with seductive smokey eye make up and team with big hoop earrings. I really think this look has holiday vibes. You can just imagine sipping a delicious cocktail watching the sun go down. Although with a gorgeous velvet jumpsuit this is a great alternative to a festive outfit.

I really think that a scarf can make an outfit. I totally love how such a simple accessory can make a massive difference. The catwalks this year were full of scarves used in a variety of ways. So I suggest investing in some beautiful scarves, you’ll be adding them to every outfit come next year! Whether its attached to your bag, wrapped into a skirt or worn in your hair, a scarf really is the essential fashion accessory that no girl can be without!
