SEOUL, THE SLEEPLESS CITY

Seoul is the city that never sleeps. Bustling with energy at any hour of the day and night, the city offers an exciting night life, peaceful oasis in the middle of the chaos, and a shopping experience like no other.

Insadong, one of my favorite shopping areas in Seoul.

The cafés are always brisking with activity. Even at 11pm, you can find locals and tourists alike hanging out at Starbucks, sipping on an energizing espresso and catching up with their friends.

Amid all the noise and confusion, Cheong-Gye-Cheon Restoration is a peaceful oasis. With its luscious gardens and cooling waterfall, it’s the perfect spot to go for a relaxing walk or a jog to regenerate the body and mind.

An unmissable opportunity to experience a rare traditional event in Korea is the Royal Guard-Changing ceremony at Gyeongbokgung. Also known as Gyeongbok palace, it was the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty.

Near Gyeongbok palace is Bukchon Hanok village. Preserved to show the 600-year old environment and atmosphere of the Joseon Dynasty, it’s a maze of alleys lined by hanoks, traditional Korean houses built in symbiosis with nature. This natural philosophy touches every aspect of Korean life, including skincare products, which are formulated with the gentlest and most effective natural actives.

With its 127 beauty stores, the Myeongdong district is popular with tourists eager to discover the wonders of Korean skincare and beauty. By the time they’re ready to head home, they’ve filled an entire suitcase (or two!) with BB creams, sheet masks, and the newest innovative products to come out of the country’s high-tech labs.

At 236m, the Namsan Tower marks the highest point in Seoul. It’s a famous landmark that attracts throngs of tourists for the beautiful view you can enjoy from the top. It’s especially busy at night, when the tower lights up.

A modern, vibrant, fun-filled city steeped in tradition, Seoul is the ultimate travel destination.
