Top 5 Chic Paris Fashion Week Looks

Style  /   /  By Vicky Lee

Paris is the last, but by no means least, prominent fashion capital for their designers to showcase their latest autumn/winter 2018 collections. Here however there are some really heavy hitters in the fashion industry, Dior, Saint Laurent and Chanel to name a few. It’s been an incredible, yet totally exhausting fashion season for me and there are some really exciting new trends that we can all expect to be wearing this year. Here are my super chic top 5 Paris Fashion Week looks.

1. Animal Print

Jumpsuit by Skiim

A little bit of animal print can make a big statement! We saw Marc Jacobs using the sassy print for his trench coats while Balenciaga favoured zebra stripes. I’ve kept my trench simple with a classic Burberry one, but gone for a full on animal print jumpsuit by Skiim. You don’t have to be afraid of wearing animal print, however if you choose to play it safe just use the print as an accent, a leopard print scarf for example on an all black outfit with have maximum effect. However if you do fancy trying this trend then the key is to keep it chic by staying in the same colour palette. If it’s zebra print then black is obviously an easy choice, although pick up on the neon trend and try a contrasting hot pink that will make those stripes pop!

2. Matching Pairs

Suit by Manoush

We’ve seen power suits feature a lot over this fashion season, so expect to feel that girl power all year long! The pyjama suit has also been a popular choice among the fashionista set. It’s such a relaxed yet elegant look, I mean who doesn’t love their silk pyjamas? This beautiful suit by Manoush is a fantastic hybrid of both these trends. The matching design is so subtle yet incredibly eye catching, even giving a little nod to the animal print trend. Of course both pieces could be worn separately giving extra longevity to this suit. Try the trousers with super crisp white shirt for a relaxed feel, or the jacket over a black pencil dress for a perfect office to evening look.

3. The Midi Skirt

Skirt by Skiim London

Paris is the perfect place to embrace my inner rock chick! In this outfit I feel like jumping on the back of a scooter and tootling around the streets of Paris. This skirt by Skiim is just the right amount of sexy, skimming the mid calf and then cut to the thigh. The midi skirt just oozes sexiness, and happily it is the skirt of the season. So if you’re buying one skirt this year make sure it’s the midi. It compliments every figure by accentuating the female form. However to keep the midi looking modern pair with a denim skirt and ankle boots.

4. Boyfriend Style

Jacket by Brookbrothers

I love stealing my husband clothes, whether it’s one of his big white shirts or a big comfy oversized jumper. Excitingly I actually have good reason to steal them now as it’s become one this years hottest trends. The good news is you don’t have to have a husband or boyfriend to steal from, and it’s such an easy look to achieve with maximum style points. I’m wearing a gorgeous coat by Brookbrothers, styled with thigh high white boots for ultimate street style cool.

5. Plastic Fantastic

Coat by Skiim London

A trench coat should be a staple piece in everyone’s wardrobe. Invest in a high quality designed trench and it will last you well from season to season. However this year designers have been showcasing trench’s and coats fabrics such as PVC, patent, and plastic. The models at Chanel wore transparent PVC anoraks over beautiful outfits. This black patent belted trench by Skiim was such a head turner at Paris Fashion Week and a favourite amongst the street photographers. With all the flashes I definitely needed these gorgeous sunglasses by Marc Jacobs!
