innisfree kale antioxidant skin

I have always tried to eat a healthy and balanced diet because I believe the food you eat plays a leading role in the health of your skin. When I drink a green kale smoothie, my skin never erupts in pimples (an all too common occurrence on those rare occasions when I decide to indulge in a burger).

This is why I couldn’t be more excited to see that superfoods are finally gaining the place they deserve in skincare too. Lentils, quinoa and kale are just a few of the nutritional powerhouses that can now be found in plenty of Korean skincare products, including my new favourite toner, Innisfree Kale Anti-Oxidant Skin.

What makes kale so beneficial for the health of your skin as well as of your body is its high antioxidant content, being jam-packed with vitamin C, quercetin, beta-carotene and many other free radicals scavengers. As a result, this curly vegetable has earned one of the highest ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) rating, which measures the food’s ability to destroy the free radicals that cause premature aging and wrinkling as well as numerous deadly diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

Incorporating kale into your diet and your skincare routine will help your skin age at a much slower pace, preventing the premature formation of fine lines and wrinkles. On top of it, kale is also known for its ability to prevent the loss of elasticity that inevitably follows the excessive exposure to the damaging ultraviolet rays of the sun.

In addition to kale, this toner is also rich in humectants, the most important of which is sodium hyaluronate. Sodium hyaluronate steals moisture from the environment and pours it into your skin, helping to maintain its hydration at an optimal level. I feel like a broken record saying this, but it bears repeting: when skin is well-hydrated, it is softer to the touch, looks so plump that fine lines and wrinkles appear almost invisible and takes on a dewy and translucent glow.

Innisfree Kale Anti-Oxidant Skin is very hydrating: its lightweight texture sinks quickly into my skin without leaving any sticky residue in its trail. The toner adds that extra burst of hydration my skin needs more than ever now that the temperatures have considerably dropped and threaten to suck all the moisture out of it. Thanks to this toner, my skin remains as soft and supple as it was in summer and I can count on it to help me keep premature wrinkles away from my face too.

I am more convinced than ever that kale is the n.1 superfood for the skin, but I can’t wait help but wonder – what is my skin going to eat next?

Do you use it with a cotton pad or just pat a little directly on the face?
