I always look forward to going to Cannes and this year was no exception. The little resort town on the French Riviera is famed for its film festival. It comes alive with passion, glamour and excitement. I love the excuse to dress like a Hollywood film star, wearing some impossibly gorgeous gowns. It’s simply thrilling to walk the same streets and rub shoulders with the glitterati of the film world.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is a non-profit organisation of journalists and photographers who report on the American entertainment industry and transport it around the globe. The HFPA is the same organisation that conducts the Golden Globes and this year they hosted the most spectacular party during the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. The star studded event was held at Nikki Beach Club with Robert Pattison, Helen Mirren and Eva Longoria to name a few were in attendance.
Each year the HFPA utilises the worldwide spotlight of Cannes Film Festival to acknowledge and promote a group or charity that would benefit from the global attention. At the event the HFPA presented Help Refugees with a cheque for $500,000. I was, like many, overwhelmed by the generosity of the HFPA. I think its so commendable to use their status to shine light on the many people out there doing good without any recognition.
I absolutely love the chicness of the French Riviera, with Cannes being a particular favourite of mine. There’s no limit to the level of glamour during the Film Festival. It’s an absolute pleasure to attend the parties wearing the most elegant gowns. I adore seeing everyone turning up looking their most glam! The Chopard events are always the hot ticket in town. It was a star studded dinner party to celebrate the launch of the new fragrance ‘La Nuit Des Rois’. Stealing the spotlight was the beautiful Indian actress Sonam Kapoor who was recent announced as the new face of Chopard Parfums.
