London is a big and exciting city that never sleeps and I absolutely love exploring its every corner. But, the rhythm of life here is very hectic and frenetic at the best of times, and it’s easy to feel stressed out and frazzled every now and then. Whenever that happens, I believe it is very important to take a little break from the stresses and worries of life to pamper and recharge yourself because we can’t do a good job at work or be the best mothers our families deserve if we constantly feel overwhelmed and worn out.
One of my absolute favorite places for a summertime pampering break in London is the Berkeley Health Club & Spa at the Berkeley Hotel. The Spa is a beautiful and calm place that brings the peace and quietness of the countryside to the heart of Knightsbridge, one of the most bustling areas of the city. But, what I love the most about the spa is its holistic approach to skincare. Each treatment is designed not only to nourish skin and revitalize tired bodies, but also to relieve stress, calm down restless minds, and soothe weary spirits.
The spa offers lots of different packages, which include up to 3 treatments, access to the rooftop pool and in some cases, food and drink as well. One of my favorite treatments is the Asian green tea body wrap, which moisturizes and exfoliates the body, getting rid of dead skin cells and smoothing out skin, leaving it velvety soft and radiant.
After the spa treatment, I like to go up to the 7th floor to wander in the secret garden, which is always in full bloom in the summer months, and take a dip in the pool. The pool is tiled with an iridescent white and gold mosaic that beautifully sparkles when the light hits it, and sits beneath a retractable roof that slides away whenever the temperatures permit it – unfortunately, London weather does not allow that to happen too often!
Despite the weather, I came away from the Berkeley spa completely re-energezed: I almost felt like a new person, so relaxed in both body and mind and without a care in the world. I just hope that next time I visit, the weather will be a lot sunnier and warmer!
