nadezda fund charity concert 02

On the 1st of March, I received an invitation to a charity concert for The Nadezda Fund held at the Russian Embassy. The Nadezda Fund is a wonderful organization that helps vulnerable kids in the Tver Region of Russia in two different ways: by helping to provide medical and social support for children with illnesses and disabilities, and by offering financial grants to children gifted in music, art, math, and science, allowing these kids to pursue further education in their craft.

The founder of the fund, Nadezda Trokan-Abela, who hails from the Tver region herself, is one of my closest friends. I was thrilled to have this opportunity to support the amazing work she does for the poorer children in her home country, who wouldn’t otherwise have access to proper medical care and education. It’s an added bonus to be able to hang out with your girlfriends while supporting such a great cause.

The talented violinist who performed at the event was Daniel Lozakobitj. At only fourteen years old he’s already an award-winning and internationally recognized musician, often performing on his own or with an orchestra in front of exclusive audiences, including the Swedish Royal Family. It’s truly inspiring to hear about how much he’s already achieved at such a young age!

The evening was a great success and raised both funds and awareness for such a good cause, which was exactly what it set out to do. I couldn’t have been more proud of my friend, Nadezda – and knowing her, I have no doubt the money will be put to the best possible use. And what’s more important than the wellbeing of vulnerable children?
